The Ray / Wray family have been in the United States since the very early days. They can be found in Brunswick County, Virginia; Allen County, Kentucky; Wayne County, Tennessee; Travis County, Texas; and the Jackson Purchase Area of Kentucky. They continued to wander to Missouri, Arkansas, New Mexico ... They were sturdy hard working farmers who, for the most part raised large families. There are many mysteries and unanswered questions in these family records but a number of ancestors are rather colorful in character and interesting to read about.
