68. Thomas Rodman was born in 1716 in Flushing, Long Island. He moved to to Burlington, New Jersey, with his father, about 1726 from Flushing, Long Island. He owned a house on the west side of Main (later, High) street about 1739 in Burlington, , New Jersey. "The passengers who came from London settled on the west side of Main Street (now High Street). ... My mother's great-great-grandfather, Thomas Rodman, owned the property and built the house now owned by Dr. Hall's widow. From this fact we know our ancestors were from London." - Sally Boyd's letter. (Although information in the Family Albums is possibly confused regarding who arrived from London, the basic information is likely valid: that is, the house was on the west side, and was owned and built by Thomas Rodman.) He provided a room in their home to start the Burlington Library, from Nov 1758 to Nov 1759 in Burlington, , New Jersey. Chartered by King George II, the Burlington Library was founded through meetings at the Rodman home. He died on Feb 7 1796 in Burlington, , New Jersey. He was married to Elizabeth Pearson on Aug 6 1739 in Burlington, , New Jersey. They were married in the Friends Meeting Home at Burlington, New Jersey.
