Surnames: FERGUSON and DARBY Who was Elizabeth D. FERGUSON born abt. 1804 in NY - married Francis Gore DARBY on February 9, 1831 in Queenston, Ontario, Canada? She moved with her husband and children to Michigan settling in Macomb County first, about 1852, and then moving to Almont Twp., Lapeer Co., MI. We believe Elizabeth d. Jan 22, 1876 in Almont Twp. Her children were; George b. 1831 St. Catherines, Ontario - Charlotte E. b. May 4, 1837 St. Catherines and possibly William F. b. 1843. I have been told that her family lived next door to the DARBY family in Grantham Twp., old Lincoln Co., Ontario in 1828. Elizabeth's husband, Francis, d. July 14, 1897 in Walworth Co., SD. Surnames: FERGUSON Robert Ferguson was my maternal grandfather. He was born in the late 19th century in the general area of Chelsey, Ontario, Canada. I was told that he attended the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph, Ontario. Surnames: FERGUSON, CROWELY and PORTER Great site! I'm searching out my family tree on my mother's side. Very little information was past down. My grandfather was William FERGUSON, he married Mary CROWELY. He and his brother (name unknown) immigrated from Ireland ( dates unknown)and settled in I believe Red River Saskchewan. The farm failed and the brothers parted ways and William moved to Dryden On and became a lumberjack. He and Mary had one child a daughter, my mother Elise May FERGUSON - birhdate l922 died 1989. Due to some unknown circumstance, suspected a fire that would have destroyed their cabin and it is here there is lost information on my grandmother Mary. Whatever occurred my grandmother was unable to care for my mother and Due to this unknown circumstance my mother at age 3 was taken in by elderly aunt and uncle, Anne PORTER and (unknown uncle's first name) who lived in Toronto On.and raised her. Surnames: FERGUSON and SMITH Im looking for information on Alexander FERGUSON, born in Calander, Ontario, Canada. I'm not sure of any dates. He married Kate SMITH and lived in Collingwood,Ontario.
