Surnames: FERGUSON, QUICK and VANCISE I'm looking for Ansel (Ansele) FERGUSON born 1822 somewhere in New York State. I don't know this for sure, but this is what I was told by my Uncle. He married Harriet QUICK, who had been married to Abraham VANCISE before. I can't find where Harriet came from either. Ansel and Harriet had 3 sons. Samuel born April 24, 1860, Eli born 1862 and Almerion born Nov 30, 1865. They went to Sharon Township, Potter County, PA just before Almerion was born. Ansel is my great grandfather and I would like to find him and his family. I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything. I wish someone could help. Thank you. Mary B. |

Surname: FERGUSON, KISER and KEYSER My great grandfather was Alexander FERGUSON, born in Mifflin County, Pa. in 1823. He apparently migrated to Kentucky as a young man. He married Frances KISER (KEYSER) about 1852-1853. She was from Virginia. Their children, all born in Kentucky were: Elizabeth, ca 1854; Harvey, ca. 1856; George, ca. 1858; Sarah Jane (my grandmother) ca. 1860; Anna, ca. 1865; Clara, ca. 1870. Alexander served in the Union Army as a Private during the Civil War. He was wounded (right heel shattered) at Vicksburg and medically discharged shortly thereafter. No one ever remembered his talking about his early years nor his family in Pennsylvania. I would be grateful if this could be posted in both Pennsylvania and Kentucky. I would love to know about Alexander's parents and siblings. I have come smack up against the wall on this one. Thank you. Virginia Tometich anquest@aol.com |
