RADIO ZENITH
Zenith was the brainchild of 'Bruce Wayne' aka chief engineer and presenter Andy Ellis of ABC Radio, Waterford,Ireland. Their 48 and 41 metre bank rock service was broadcast BI-weekly on short wave until the station 'joined' the 6235 Network. Notable for its unique one off stereo transmission on short wave, where the stereo separation was excellent due to the left and right channels being broadcast on entirely different frequencies(!) The station also opened on a Sunday morning with the excellent Steve King, who later went on to a successful radio and TV career. Station manager Andy Ellis went on to forge friendships with the operators of ABC Radio International and Radio Zodiac which remain in place to this day.
Station Manager Bruce Wayne prepares the 7325khz transmitter at Box Hill, Surrey, a popular pirate 'site' in 1979.
