ADA Walk for America
Huntsville West Members participated in the American Diabetes Walk for America around UAH's campus. Those who participated include Bob Larrowe, Debbie Lauderdale, Michael Silas, Nathan Silas, Tracy Silas, Jim Tait, and Ray Tomlinson
Club Board MeetingWe held our first Board Meeting on Friday. The board set the 2nd or 3rd Friday of each month as our regular BOD meeting date.
Club Officers InductedThe 2002-2003 Huntsville West Officers and Board were installed by LTG Ernest Hulsey at our first meeting in October. We are privilaged to have Ray Tomlinson leading our club.
February Club Programs Announced The speakers for the club meetings during February will be Ray Saunders from Health Establishments at Local Schools on February 5, Mary Garzoni from the Senior Singers on February 12, Connie Glass from Elder Law Firm of Glass and Wallace on February 19, and Harvey Cotton from the Botanical Gardens on February 26.
Governor's Visit to Division 1 Announced The Alabama District Kiwanis Governor, Truel Watts will make his official visit to Divison 1 on March 18, 2002 at the Redstone Aresnal Officers Club. The Banquet, hosted by Huntsville West Kiwanis, will begin at 6:30 PM. Please come and help welcome Governor and First Lady Watts to Division 1. We will not have a club meeting on March 19, 2002 due to the Governor's Visit.
Huntsville West Named Honor Club
On October 5, 2000, the Huntsville West Kiwanis Club was presented a banner by Alabama District Governor, Joel Williams. Huntsville West was the second club in the District to receive ths honor
for our dontations to the World-wide Service Project (IDD), through the Hixson and Tablet of Honor Programs.
Doug Driskill Elected Division 1 LTG
Huntsville West member, Doug Driskill was elected to serve as the 2001-02 Lt. Governor for Division 1 of the Alabama District of Kiwanis. Doug severed as Lt. Governor-elect in 2000-01 and as Huntsville West Kiwanis Club President in 1997-98.
