So, you want to know a little about me, huh? Well, let's see how can I sum myself up......I'm such a complex person!!! *S*
I entered this world with the name...Bobbie Joyce ...given to me by my proud parents, Bob and Pauline Sessions. I was born 6/6/52, I'm 5'11" with eyes of blue, ( Dan kinda made that little rhyme so he could remember my birthday! *Smile*). I have since dropped the full name and just go by my initials....'cept a few of the family still call me Bobbie Joyce. I have one brother, Jr.Sessions (aka Noah Oce Falling).
I'm originally from Stinnett, Texas. I lived there until I was in the eighth grade of school, we then moved to Oklahoma. I feel more like an Okie now, since I've lived here most of my life. I attended most of my high school years at Dover High School, Dover,Oklahoma. I loved school and cried like a big ol' baby to have to graduate and move out into the real world on my own.
In high school I was a pretty outgoing person...I guess that explains why I was elected wittiest or gabbiest each year! *S* I did recieve the honor of Miss Dover High my Junior Year, also. Hey,...Alright....so it was a very small school...but I was still very proud to recieve these honors! *S* I acheived several awards for my musical abilities on solos, group awards and tri state honor choir.
I loved anything pertaining to music......and Oh, how I loved to dance!!! If there was a WKY teen hop any where around....you could bet your bottom dollar that I would be there!
My Dad always played the guitar and I grew up singin' with him. I remember lots of nights that he'd play, Mama would join in on the piano and my grandmother would grab her french harp, Aunt Lula would grab me to dance and the windows would start shakin' from all the music, dancin', singin' and laughin'!!! Gosh those were great times...I can still hear my grandmother singin' "Put Your Little Foot" and dancin' all around the livin' room!
You know...even though we weren't wealthy people....we were the richest family I know of....because of all the love!
I guess that's where the music in my life started. I went on, to stumble up on stage with a good country band, to sing a song or two one night while out dancin'... and endin' up joinin' the band and marryin' the lead singer,Dan! We've had a couple of bands since then...but now are retired from performin'...for money anyways! *S* Watch for our music or band pages for more info on that subject!
My Dad was a rodeo man and oilfield worker when he met my Mom and not long after they were married she made him quit rodeo'n after a bull liked to have made a whip out of him.....thought it broke his neck...but he just walked in one direction while he faced the other for several weeks! *S* After that he was very involved in the rodeo's in the area but as President of the Hutchinson County Roping Association or judgin' the rodeos. So the country life and horses and all that stuff were always part of my life.
Since I've been grown, family has always been my Number One priority in life. I've tried to teach my kids all the basics of a good family....lots of love, honesty, respect and patience!
