We believe
that a Performance Collie, that is a Collie who is competitive in advanced
levels of
Agility,
Obedience, Herding, Flyby, Back packing, (or whatever else we ask
him to do)
must not
only be intelligent and trainable, but that Collie must also be built correctly,
that is
to have correct confirmation.
Correctness
refers primarily to correct angulation, sufficient bone, body balance,
correct size and weight
all of
which contribute to a Performance dog's (or horse's) ability to complete
the task at hand
without
risk of injury to joints, ligaments, spine etc. that an incorrectly
built dog frequently experiences.
These injuries
generally result in the dog's early retirement from competition
and
his owner's participation in a wonderful sport retired with them

standard gives us a description of a beautiful, healthy, sound working
Collie.
