How Do I Receive Eternal Life?
God loves you very much and wants you to live
with Him forever! He has known you since before you were born.
He knows everything you have done - yes, the bad things as well
as the good - and He still loves you. Everything He has, including
eternal life, He wants to give to you. The great love that God
has for you is called grace - it's undeserved,
unearned, and totally FREE.
God pours this love, this "grace,"
out on us in His means of grace through
which He works faith in our hearts
by the action of His Holy Spirit.
His Word, the Bible,
is one of those means of grace and contains all that you need
to be transformed into His child.
God's Plan for You

You, like everyone else, are a sinner. That
means that no matter how hard you try, you cannot live a good
enough life to please God and earn eternal life (heaven). Author
Max Lucado illustrates it this way: It is as if our goal was
to jump from earth to the moon. Some people can vertically jump
over six feet! Others can only manage a few inches. But, in terms
of the goal, both are failures. So it is with trying to live
a good life. Some people certainly live better, more noble, lives
than others, but in terms of the goal God demands -- perfection
-- both fall far short.
Knowing this, God sent us a substitute --
His Son, Jesus -- who lived a perfect life for us and who took
upon Himself the punishment our failures deserved! Is that "justice"?
Is that "fair"? No, it is not. It is GRACE.
God loves you so much that He wants to consider
Jesus' perfection as yours! It is His gift to you, given
when you trust in His promise (see above: John 3:16). Do you?
Perhaps you would like to pray the following
prayer, or one like it in your own words:
My Father in heaven, I realize I am a sinner
and fall far short of what You want for my life. I cannot of
my own power save myself or earn eternal life with You in heaven.
Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for me and, by
the power of Your Holy Spirit, to create faith in my heart. Help
me to resist temptation and sin and follow You. And when I do
sin and fail You, forgive me in Jesus' name. Thank You for Your
gift of faith and eternal life in Jesus. Amen.
