GO TO FAMILY TREEMAKER FILE HERE...Lots repeated, but I'm working on it!
PARENTS: Hiram and Nancy Jane Tabor-BIAS
BORN: 3-3-1862 in Joplin, Jasper Co., MO
DIED: 1-19-1907 (of the flu) at Dugginsville, Ozark Co., MO., buried Hart Cemetery.
HIRAM'S WIFE #1: Burnetty BAKER, b. _____, d. _____, married 6-7-1882 in Ozark Co., MO.
It states her father as James BAKER. They were married at the home of John BIAS (my GGF John. He was Justice of the Peace)
HIRAM & BURNETTY'S CHILDREN: UNKNOWN IF ANY.
HIRAM'S WIFE #2: Nancy Rosa Belle LOVALL-BRASUELL (picture above
NOTE: Hiram was tried for murder of Belle Lovall in Ft. Smith, AR. She was about 16-17. He was acquitted, but it is believed she died of wounds inflicted and complications of being beat by Hiram. (We usually find skeleton's in the closet somewhere along the way.) The story goes that Hiram was supposed to go pick cotton and decided to get drunk instead. They had a baby and Belle (only 16) left the baby alone to go work in the cotton field in Hiram's place. When he returned home, the baby was alone and crying. When Belle came home, he beat her with a club. Her back was completely black and it is thought he may have ruptured her spleen or injured her kidneys or other vital organs and she did die of the wounds, but because it was some time after the beating and there was no autopsy. He was acquitted when he was tried. He was the youngest of Hiram, Sr.s children and his dad died about a month before he was born. Nancy probably spoiled him and he was said to be very mean. (I have a copy of this court transcript.)
HIRAM'S PARTNER #3: Nancie Louisa RISLEY. Louisa was Jefferson BIAS' widow. She was staying with them at the time of Belle LOVALL-BIAS's death. Her parents are believed to be Burton RISLEY and Jane SINKLER.
HIRAM'S WIFE/PARTNER #4: Ida Belle Stewart, b. 1866 in MO, d. ____ in MO. Story from family members say she got really angry and died of a heart attack. She had a son Jasper "Jap" Pellham with "Chalk" Pellham when she maried Hiram.

Apparently Hiram, Jr. was meaner than we originally thought. He killed two men besides his wife Belle. Here's the story as told to me by relatives:
Hiram, Jr. was at church (of all places) and a man made fun of his long hair. That made Hiram mad so he went outside near a window, reached thru the window, pulled the man part way out of the window and slit his throat. He was being hunted for this murder and he went to OK where a lawman was about to find him. He hid in a wagon with something like a tarp over the top of it. When the lawman lifted the cover, Hiram shot him several times.
He was also a moonshiner. He made moonshine in OK and took it to AR to sell it. One time they set up a roadblock as we would call it today. Hiram had trained his horse to ride and not stop except on a certain command. When he saw the roadblock, he gave the horse the command to run. When he got near the block, he said, "I can't get the horse to stop!" so they let him thru and he got away.
