On 3rd October 98 at about 1100 hrs an ordnance was discovered on one of Singapore's offshore islands which is an Oil Refinery
It was identified to be a WW II British Artillery Shell (25 Pounder). Thank God!! It was not fused.
As it was not safe to dispose of the Artillery Shell in an Oil Refinery, it was decided to dispose of it in one of the Army's Demolition ranges. With the help of the Police Coast Guard the shell was transported to the mainland
(That's me with the cool shades!! LOL)
Preparing the Artillery shell for disposal. Taping 250 grams of Plastic Explosive do the job. (That's me again with one of my EOD Commanders)
A Final inspection by myself and its ready for it to be put in a dug out trench
Once the Artillery Shell is put into the trench, sandbags are placed over the trench to arrest most of the fragments during detonation
The after effects of the detonation, which has created a small crater.
After detonation, an inspection is carried out for evidence that the Artillery Shell is totally disposed. Here are fragments of the shell
Handsome hunks posing for a blow-job well done. ROTFLMAO!!!!
This is only one aspect of my job in EOD. As for the other things that I do, its too sensitive to print so I won't go into it. I could tell you, but after which I'm gonna have to "BLOW" you!!! ROTFLMAO
