ERNEST G. LIVINGSTON Paralysis caused the death of Ernest G. LIVINGSTON at his home on Maple Street,on July 7th, aged 41 years. He was son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry LIVINGSTON, of Indiana, where he spent all his life. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian church. He is survived by his parents, his wfe, a brother, Horace LIVINGSTON; two sisters, Mrs. M.C. WILSON, of Indiana and Mrs. Ira BAKER, of Blairsville; one son and one daughter, David and Miss Bernadine LIVINGSTON. Funeral services will be held in the First United Presbyterian church on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. 1924.

 

CHARLES FRANKLIN LIVINGSTONE. A son of Noah and Mary (MANGES) LIVINGSTON, the deceased was born in Indiana, October 13, 1877 and with the exception of three years spent in Blairsville, had always resided here. His death, which followed a long illness of a complication of diseases, occurred in his home, 967 Wayne avenue, at 2:20 a.m. Thursday.

Mr. LIVINGSTON was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Indiana Local No. 174, Journeyman Barbers International Union; Palladium Lodge No. 346, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of which he was a Past Noble Grand; was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He had been in the barbering business in Indiana for a number of years and had many warm friends and associates.

His wife, Mrs. Flora LIVINGSTONE, died April 5 last. Surviving are these children: Earl F., Wellsville, N.Y.; Beryl E., Greensburg; Mrs. Evelyn FEE and Mrs. Daryl HAMMERS, both of Indiana and Miss Helen LIVINGSTONE, at home. He also leaves a step-son, Charles FOREMAN of Clairton; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; two brothers: William G. LIVINGSTON of Blairsville and Harry LIVINGSTONE of Cleveland; Mrs. Minnie McAFEE of Blairsville and Mrs. George BOLEN of Toledo, O.

Friends are being received after 7 p.m. today in Robinson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, in charge of his pastor the Rev. Charles Sinclair Applegath. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. (Sept 29, 1938)

 

HEART ATTACK FATAL TO WM. G. LIVNGSTON OF BLAIRSVILLE

WILLIAM GRANT LIVINGSTON born May 29, 1869 in Indiana, a son of Noah and Mary LIVINGSTON, died unexptcedly of a heart attack in his home in West Market street, Blairsville at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. LIVINGSTON, who had been a barber in Blairsvillle for 52 years, was a member of the official board of the Methodist Church; a director in the Blairsville National Bank; a director of the Blairsville Cemetery Association and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and Encampment.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary (WISSINGER) LIVINGSTON; two sons: Merle LIVINGSTON of Espanola, N.M., and Howard LIVINGSTON of Youngstown, O.; a daughter, Mrs. Howard GREEN of Youngstown, O.; two sisters: Mrs. George BOLAND of Toledo, O., and Mrs. Frank McAFEE of Blairsville and a brother, Harry LIVINGSTON of Cleveland, O. There are two grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, where services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. His pastor, the Rev. A.W. Sandberg, will officiate and interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery. (March 31, 1943)

 

MRS. MARY W. LIVINGSTONE, widow of William G. LIVINGSTONE of Blairsville, died Tuesday, February 1, in the home of her son, Howard LIVINGSTONE in Youngstown, O. A duaghter of Harrison and Anna WISSINGER, she was born December 17, 1869, in Fayette County. Mrs. LIVINGSTONE was a member of the First Methodist Church of Blairsville, the Daughters of the Rebekah and the Noble Grands Club. Surviving with the son mentioned is a daughter, Mrs. Thelma GREEN, Youngstown, O.; another son: Merle LIVINGSTONE of Albuquerque, N. M., a brother, Samuel WISSINGER and a sister, Mrs. Alice COLLEGE, both of Latrobe, and three grandchildren.

Friends are being received in the Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, where services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. A.W. Sandberg will officiate and interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery. (1944)

 

AREA SOLDIER DIED IN NEW MEXICO

BLAIRSVILLE - Friends of MERLE LIVINGSON, 58, formerly of Blairsville, learned yesterday he died in a veterans hospital at Albuquerque, N. Mex. May 7.

LIVINGSTON, a member of Company L, 110th Infantry Regiment of the 28th Division, served in World War I. Survivors are his wife Nellie FRYER LIVINGSTON of Saltsburg and a son, William LIVINGSTON. (May 19, 1951)

 

IRVIN GLENN LIVINGSTON, 63, of 331 North Tenth St., Indiana, died Friday, March 11, 1988, in Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. A son of William Joseph and Emma LAMBING LIVINGSTON, he was born July 8, 1924, in White Township. Mr. LIVINGSTON was previously employed at Indiana Sportswear before his retirement. He had lived in Indiana his entire life. Surviving are his wife, Irene OSWALT LIVINGSTON; three daughters: Mrs. James (Margaret) CARNAHAN of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Eaton (Dianna) BETTS of Marion Center, Mrs Kenneth (Shirley Jean) JEWART of Creekside; one grandson, Tommy LIVINGSTON, who was raised by Mr. and Mrs. LIVINGSTON; and 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are seven brothers: Albert of Beaver Falls, Walter of New Kensington, Lyle , William, Wilbur, and Charles all of Indiana, and Ronald of Lancaster; and two sisters, Mrs. Mable OSWALT and Mrs. Jack (Pearl) JAMES both of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John LIVINGSTON; and a sister Agnes LIVINGSTON. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Samuel E. Young will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.

 

LYLE M. LIVINGSTON, 60, 404 Barclay Heights, Indiana, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1992, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. The son of William J. and Emma M. LAMBING LIVINGSTON, he was born May 2, 1932, in Indiana. Mr. LIVINGSTON had lived his entire life in Indiana County where he was a member of the Indiana Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was employed as a custodian at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Surviving are his wife, Ruth M. LAKATOSH LIVINGSTON, Indiana; one daughter Rose M. BLYSTONE, Indiana; Mrs. Greg (Faith) McDONALD, Southbound Brook, NJ, who he raised; two grandchildren; six brothers: Albert, Beaver Falls, William J. Ronald E. Wilbur and Charles E., all of Indiana; two sisters, Mrs Lewis (Louise) OSWALT, Gipsy, and Mrs. Jack (Pearl) JAMES, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John L. and Irvin LIVINGSTON; and one sister, Agnes LIVINGSTON. Friends will be received from3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Robinson-Lytle's Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Mark R. Dekle officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.

 

BLANCHE MABLE LIVINGSTON, 88, of 1692 Philadelphia St. Indiana, where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard RYAN, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1978, in Indiana. The daughter of John and Ann GRUNDY RENZ, she was born July 2, 1890, in Carnegie. Mrs. LIVINGSTON was a member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Indiana. She had lived a number of years in Washington, Pa., before moving to Indiana where she had resided for the past 60 years. She was associated with Auto Parts Co. for a number of years. Surviving are two sons, Earl, Bridgewater; Mearl, Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Margaret) RYAN, Indiana; Mrs. Calvin(Ruby) FEDDER, Aliquippa; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Armstrong LIVINGSTON, in 1966, one infant daughter; five brothers: George, Albert, Harry, Edward, Walter, two sisters, Sadie (MELICH), Bessie YOUNG; three grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Indiana. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
