Billy Johnston

the wait for a transplant

Both of Billy's parents were tested and they both had suitable kidneys. They decided to use his mother's kidney.

Before surgery could be preformed, both Billy and his mother had to be prepared. They needed to accept the transplant. Billy had a hard time at first and hated the diayslis machine, which he avoided. Then one day he had a major set back which caused him to realize the importance of the transplant.

During the summer of 1998, both Billy and his mother were prepared for surgery, while their family waited patiently. After hours of surgery they both came out fine. His mother's left kidney was placed into Billy successfully.
