Beaune is a small town in the midst of the burgandy region. The fine vineyards surround the small town. The medevial walls and some buildings remain. The 'not to be missed' sight is Hotel Dieu. Built by a wealthy town leader as a charity hospital for the sick and dying. The multi-colored tiled roof is a landmark. The hospital beds faced the church altar which originally contained flemish art work of the Last Judgement. The art can be seen in detail with a moving magnification lens in the museum. In addition, many Flemish tapestries are also in the museum.
