Hans Sigvard SORENSEN immigrated to North America in about 1904. Hans went to work on his brother "Jim's" farm in Wenatchee or Wilber, Washington, USA. He moved to San Francisco and was there in the big earthquake. He returned briefly to Denmark to visit, then on his return to USA in 1906, he met his future wife Anna MORTENSEN from Skaelskor, Denmark on the boat. She was on her way to a job as a maid in New York. He sent for her when he moved to Seattle in 1907. They were married in 1908 in King County, Washington, then moved to Seattle. My Grandparents settled in the Athabasca area and remained there. Though all of their children are scattered across Alberta. My Father remembers that his Uncle, my Granfathers brother used to visit, before moving to B.C. My fathers family lost touch, because his uncle had returned to Denmark before the move to B.C. and can only remember being told that they were living in B.C. One of his cousins names was Connie. My father tells me that he knows that his Uncle (My Grandfathers brother) moved to B.C. after a trip back to Denmark. They had 3 children, a girl named Connie, a boy named Allan and another boy named Serne(That is my spelling) it was a Danish name my Dad did not know how to spell it and neither do I, but that is how it sounds - rhymes with Verne. Also seeking info on Larsen/Hansen . Please email me know if you think you may have a connection.
