My father tells me that he knows that his Uncle (My Grandfathers brother) moved to B.C. after a trip back to Denmark. They had 3 children, a girl named Connie, a boy named Allan and another boy named Serne(That is my spelling) it was a Danish name my Dad did not know how to spell it and neither do I, but that is how it sounds - rhymes with Verne. #1Eileen Mastromatteo- My Great Grandmothers parents had the name of: Jorgen HANSEN and Kristin Marie MORTENSEN
The only information I have is from my Grandmothers birth certificate, from Denmark, the Aarby Pastorat. She was born 6/29/1888; and married Johannes Kristian BELL on 12/6/1914 in Svallerup. They emigrated to the US (New York) in 4/21/22. They had 2 girls, Inger and Emmy (my mother); lived in Winnipeg, Canada until 1924, from there to Noyes, Minnesota, then Nebraska, to Askov, MN, and finally, to Morgan, MN. - if this crosses with any of info you may have, I would appreciate hearing from you.
#3 Hi, my name is Steve Mortensen. I live in Marengo, IL where my Grandfather settled when he came to the United States from Nakskov Denmark in 1902 at the age of 8. My Great-Grandfather was Thorvald Mortensen who was the son of Michael Mortensen and Thrine(Hansen) Mortensen. He was born in 1865 in Nakskov, Denmark. Thorvald married Maren Johanne Nielsen who was the daughter of Niels Larsen Tonning and Ane M. Pedersen from nearby Sollestad. I have been trying to locate relatives of my great-grandfathers with little success. Thorvald had a brother Erhard who was married to Agnes V.J. Sorensen. It is my understanding that Erhards daughter Ellinor lives in the same home where my great-grandfather grew up in Nakskov, but I have been unable to make contact with her since she is very elderly, and does not want to be bothered. If there is any information which you could share it would be greatly appreciated. My great grandfather was 1 of 11 children. Sincerely, Steve Mortensen
