OK, the problem as I see it has a BUNCH of causes, but I'm going to try to give them all a go. First, There are no slaves in America! Sorry, but it's true. Slavery was outlawed during the Civil War. There is no one alive today that has owned slaves, and there is no one alive today that has been a slave. It is over, and has been for over a hundred years!

I bothers me when I hear about an "oppressed" people. It is illegal today to discriminate against anybody (except white males) in housing, loans, business, employment, minorities even get special consideration in a lot of cases! This is reverse discrimination - discrimination against the majority by the minority. Only in America!

So, if the minorities are not oppressed, what is the problem? It seems to me that they want "superior" rights instead of "equal" rights. Every time there is a complaint about being oppressed, a lot of folks (like me!) are saying to themselves, When are they going to be satisfied?

I heard a talk show a while back (Hey, there wasn't anything else on!) where a man was saying that white America should have to pay black America for the slavery years. Say what!?! If you want to get paid because one of my ancestors owned one of yours, dig him up and take him to court! Leave me out of it! I hope this guy was a fringe lunatic, but today you never know!

Now lets talk about the KKK. I am getting tired of hearing folks talk about them who don't have a clue! Here's the real story:

Just after the Civil War, the southern states had been devastated and were trying to rebuild. The carpetbaggers from the northern states took advantage of this and tried to buy up most of the land at ridiculous prices, using force when neccessary and trickery when possible. The whole place was destroyed and the folks were easy to take to the cleaners.

The KKK was formed as an un-official law-enforcement organization (okay, vigilantes!) to protect people who couldn't protect themselves. Their primary goal was two-fold: Drive out the carpetbaggers and protect abused women and children. The "burning cross" was started as a warning to evil-doers: straighten up or we'll be back! The secrecy and the hoods were used to protect the members from retaliation by occupying U. S. forces. After a while, the leadership became a bunch of hateful old men who were still sore about the slavery issue, and they started persecuting blacks, but they were NOT started for that purpose!

Now that I've got the truth out about the KKK, I have a confession to make. They DO exist in Alabama (surprise!). But they are a minority, even here. By the way, if any do-gooder law-men are reading this, The Redneck don't narc - don't even ask!

The KKK survives for one reason - anti-black sentiment stirred up by some of the things I talked about earlier. They thrive on hate, and trying to kill them with hate and reverse discrimination is like trying to kill a plant with fertilizer, water, and sunshine! It's just going to make it grow! Take that poor truck driver in the L.A. riots - he didn't do anything but drive down a public street, yet he was pulled out of his truck and severely beaten. The reason? Rodney King got beat up. Now, I feel sorry for Rodney, but he wasn't beaten up by that truck driver! Does that make any sense to anybody out there? It just makes folks mad, makes folks hate each other. The kids who beat that truck driver did more to help the KKK than a year's worth of membership drives and protests!

If the black population wants a racist free society, all they have to do is: Dis-own the hate groups and fanatics, quit trying to get extra rights and be satisfied with equal rights, and exercise your rights! You're free! Wake up and smell the coffee!
