Why Computer Science?
I like computers and how they
work. I like using software programs and the whole idea of the
internet and the world wide web. I want to know more about computers,
especially how software programs allows people to get information through new hardware technologies.
My primary interest is information technology and its management - which
includes the internet, databases, and software programs. With
information technology, I like computers as the medium of having an easy
and quick way to access, communicate, and share information.
Why Geography?
I also pursued a geography minor
during my undergraduate studies. It is going to take me an extra four courses
just to get the designation and I know it was probably not worth the time and
money. However, I do like geography and some of the courses I took
were really interesting. The reason why I like geography is
because I like the world I live in and I would like to visit the
different places when I get the chance.
Why University of Waterloo?
The University of Waterloo has
the world's largest co-operative education program. I figured that
gaining practical experience in the working world before I set out to
find a career was a good idea, since I am still unsure what I could
offer to this world. Over the co-op work terms, I got the exposure to see the different
aspects of information technology methodologies in different kinds of
industries. Also, the chance to live on my own was also something
I wanted to experience.
