As many of you may know,
in mid July, 1998 I moved Valencort back to his old stomping grounds.
He was here at Rock House Riding Center (in Senoia, GA) for several months
about a year and a half ago. Last year, I moved him to a place alot
closer to home so that I could spend more time with him. Anyway,
I went back up to Chris and Mona's and took a look around and saw what
a good job they have done on maintenance on their place and I decided that
Valencort needed to be back there. He is living the wild life
in the back pasture and loving every minute of it! In these pictures,
he had been out there in his herd situation with about a dozen or so other
horses (including his sister Breeze) for about a month with almost no human
contact. I think it has done him alot of good! He has grown
quite a bit; gaining an inch or so in height and a whole lot of muscle!
He came right up to me, stuck his head in his halter and calmly walked
with me up to the barn to get all prettied up. As we walked through
the front field, his baby sister Sajid, came up and I caught her.
I spent so much of my attention toward her leading lesson, I almost forgot
to realize that Valencort had remembered all of his own leading
lessons! He stayed next to my right shoulder, just like he was supposed
to. He got an extra pat and a few carrots when he got to the barn!
*S* I was sooooo proud of him!!
(Ow! Get off me,
you silly fly!!)
