Family History (Of the Eastern Shore of Maryland)

      The Dean family were basically centered in the Preston, Maryland area. Two photo's are displayed within this document. Family members names shown in Marroon are the direct ancestors of my children Eric, Kayla, & Kara. Anyone that has information or questions on this family line please email me. Carroll, Fleming, Poole

      John, (1) was believed to have been born in the Federalsburg, Md. area, date unknown. He married Katherine Fleming. Nothing further is known of John (1) or Katherine. Currently they are known to have only one child however there is a strong indication of more. 2.* Maurice Samuel Dean, b.Oct 22, 1907, d. May 30, 1979

Maurice Samuel Dean, (2)

      Maurice, (2) was born the only known child of John Wesley (1) (5) & Katherine Fleming on October 22, 1907 possibly in Federalsburg. He married Grace November 6, 1929 in the Union Grove Church Parsonage in Preston. Grace was born the dau of Lewis Clayton & Sally Emily (Poole) Carroll on March 3, 1908 in Preston.       Maurice (2) worked as an Insurance Salesman, Farmer, Carpenter and at one time owned and operated a store in Denton. Grace grew up in Preston & worked with her family on their farm. She attended all of her schooling in Preston & was the only family member to graduate from High School. During her marriage she worked as a homemaker & raised her children. This marriage ended in divorce & Maurice (2) moved to Philadelphia, PA. While there it is unknown what type of work he did or exactly where is lived. Maurice (2) died on May 30, 1979 in Philadelphia, PA of a Heat Attack at the age of 71. He was interred somewhere in Philadelphia. Together they had 6 children. 8.* Sharon Lee Dean, b. Jan 5, 1949
