Ch Bluegrace Bottoms Up "Fancy" (profile by Jane Johnson)

Fancy is a very well constructed young bitch. At 8 weeks, in this picture, you can appreciate her good conformation. Fancy was noted early on as being a pwd of very high potential. Her sister Lulu makes them a matched pair, Lulu being a beautiful bitch as well.

Fancy achieved her first points in the show ring at aged 6 months. We are growing her slowly and appropriately, so that by age 3, she is in the prime of her life. While this picture taken here above is ungroomed in a gale force wind, you can appreciate her lovely top line, with beautiful front and rear angles. Additionally, she has the desired "coarsness" expected of the PWD. ie: you do not want them looking like a poodle.

Winning the Best of Breed at the Adelaide Royal, also gave Fancy her Australian Championship, being the first from the litter to achieve such. There are several of Fancy's litter mates also now titled, which thrills us greatly, and makes their dam - (Anji's Sea Shell's de Alcedo) one of the top champion producing get in the breed in the world.

Fancy is a lovely bitch, and a pleasure to watch as she galavants around our yards, frolicking joyfully with our other dogs. As a breeder, Fancy is providing us with everything we could wish for so far. She is better than her dam (Shelly), and we hope she will go onto bigger and better triumphs. Importantly, we are hoping of Fancy to provide us with the new generation of brood bitches, where she can continue to produce better quality Portuguese Water Dogs. Not surprisingly, already there has been interest expressed for puppies from her next year (2003).

Fancy has already been noted and awarded by judges and trainee judges for her correct conformation and pwd temperament.
