Christian David Hall (1824-1890) was a wagonmaker who may have been born in Concord, PA or in Va. According to family history, he lived in Fishers Hill Va. for a time, where he is said to have run a wagon shop with a man named Shiflett. Christian was said to be the son of a Noah David Halle from Germany and his wife from Bavaria. What is known is that Christian did live in Rockingham County, Va. where his marriages are recorded. He also served in the Confederate Army as a wagonmaker. Christian Hall's first wife was Eliza Croft, who died young, after bearing three children. His second wife was Minerva Jane Minnick. Two of their granddaughters married descendants of Lewis F. Smith. (Fannie Lou Hall, daughter of Noah, and Goldie Jane Hall, daughter of Joseph Christian Hall).

During or after the Civil War, Christian Hall moved to Warren County, where his son Joseph Christian Hall (1861-1948) continued to farm until his death. He married Ruth McDonald (1865-1952) on June 5, 1884. Joseph and Ruth are buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal.
