Minerva Jane Minnick HallMinerva Jane Minnick, daughter of A. and Elizabeth Minnick of Rockingham County, married the widower Christian Hall, a wagonmaker, on Dec. 30, 1856. Christian was said to be the son of a Noah David Halle from Germany and his wife from Bavaria. Christian Hall's first wife was Eliza Croft, who died young, after bearing three children. His second wife was Minerva Jane Minnick. Christian is listed as serving in the Civil War as a wagonmaker in Rockingham County Men in Gray. During or after the Civil War, Christian and Minerva moved to Warren County. (There is some confusion as to whether the family may have spent time in Maryland first). They raised many children in Warren County, Virginia, and their son Joseph Christian Hall also farmed there for many years. This copy of a photo was kindly provided by one of her descendants through her son Noah Hall.
