REINDEER PUNCH
Mix 2 cups of orange juice, 2 cups of lemon juice,
and 2 cups of grenadine syrup.
Pour over block of ice to chill.
Just before serving, add 3 quarts of ginger ale,
and 1 pint of quartered strawberries
or sliced fruit in season.
Serve in a large glass trough.
Makes enough for Olive and a few of her pals.
Double the recipe and use an extra-large
glass trough
for two teams (18) of reindeer.
OLIVE'S RAISIN OATMEAL COOKIES
½ cup of white sugar
½ cup of brown sugar
½ cup of softened margarine
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 large egg
¾ cup of white flour
½ teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup of rolled oats
½ teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of water
½ cup of raisins
Heat the oven to 325°F.
Sift flour and soda.
Stir in oats and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream
together sugar and margarine.
Add the egg and the vanilla
to the cream mixture and beat until smooth.
Add dry mixture.
Add water and mix.
Add raisins and mix well.
Drop cookies on a greased cookie
sheet and bake 12 minutes or until light brown.
Makes 3 dozen.

MRS. CLAUS'S CHOCOLATE CAKE
1 cup of shortening
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla
4 one-ounce squares of unsweetened chocolate, melted
5 large eggs
2 ¼ cups of sifted cake flour
1 teaspoon of soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of buttermilk
Whipped cream
Red and green glazed cherries
Stir shortening to soften.
Gradually add sugar, creaming until
light and fluffy.
Blend in vanilla and cooled chocolate.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk,
beating after each addition.
Bake in a large pan in the shape of a
Christmas tree in the oven (350°F)
for 20-25 minutes or until done.
When the cake is cold, ice it with whipped
cream and decorate with glazed cherries.
Sprinkle the trunk with crushed filberts and cashews.
