Mary MACCUBBIN

Mary Wallingford married William Maccubbin on 22 October 1772. This marriage was registered in St James Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. William died before 11 February 1779. On that date, Mosses Maccubbin and Mary Maccubbin, executors of William Maccubin began probate proceedings in Anne Arundel County [Liber ED, page 93 of the Anne Arundel County Administrations Account]. On 10 February 1782, Mary Maccubbin filed a deposition in a case involving a debt of her husband William. She stated she was about 26 years old and that she had two children, Moses and a daughter. William's will names the two children, Moses and Elizabeth. Allen Quynn filed the suit and stated that Moses was 4 years old (as of 10 February 1782). The case was entered into the records of the Chancery Court of Maryland. An abstract of the original records can be found on pages 126 and 127 of Debbie Hooper's Abstracts of Chancery Court Records of Maryland 1669-1782 [Family Line Publications, 1996--Westminster, MD]. Mary was deceased by 17 March 1789 when Moses Maccubbin (brother of William) was the administrator of her estate. As the heirs of Mary, Elizabeth Maccubbin received one half of the balance of her estate and Moses Maccubbin the other. Since Elizabeth was mentioned first, she was probably older than Moses. What happened to Elizabeth and Moses is unknown.
