James WALLINGFORD

James Wallingford was born 29 May 1717 in Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's County, Maryland and died between 20 November 1772 and 14 January 1777. Respectively, these are the dates he wrote his will and his executors submitted it for probate in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It was filed in Book 41, page 422--Anne Arundel County, Maryland Wills. In his will he mentioned his wife Mary and all his children, none of whom he named. He directed Mary to sell Wallingford's Purchase, the land his father Benjamin had first settled in Prince George's County. His brother Benjamin Wallingford had deeded this to him a few years earlier. Moses Maccubbin, Nicholas Worthington and Caleb Burgess were witnesses. Fortunately, his settlement papers did name five children. They were filed in the Testamentary Papers of the Perogative Court of the State of Maryland, 1780: Box 2 Folder 38.
