He died October 13, 1845 in Cherokee Sta., Franklin Co., AL, at 69 years of age. His body was interred in Tuscumbia Cemetery near Tuscumbia, Franklin County, AL.
He married Mary Louisa HILL May 1, 1801. She was born 1781. She died September 16, 1831 in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, AL, at 50 years of age.
David Short GOODLOE and Mary Louisa HILL had the following children:

178 iii. David Short GOODLOE Jr. was born in Granville County, NC, March 25, 1810. He died August 15, 1859 in Monroe, (?) VA, at 49 years of age. David's occupation: Planter/Minister.
179 iv. Albert Gallatin GOODLOE was born in Granville County, NC, April 13, 1812. He died January 1, 1887 in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, AL, at 74 years of age. His body was interred near Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., AL.(241)
180 v. Robert Atlas GOODLOE(242) was born in Granville County, NC, December 7, 1814. He died March 8, 1882 in Lane Springs, Franklin County, AL, at 67 years of age. He married Mary LANE in Morgan County, AL, December 24, 1835.(243) She was born in Wake County, NC August 16, 1817. Mary was the daughter of Isaac LANE and Polly UNKNOWN. She died October 23, 1874 in Barton Station, Franklin County, AL, at 57 years of age. A. T. Goodloe referred to him as "my guardian" in the Family Bible death record.
181 vi. John Calvin GOODLOE was born in NC, May 21, 1817. He died February 25, 1895 in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, AL, at 77 years of age. He married Harriet Ann Rebecca TURNER in Huntsville, Madison County, AL, November 1, 1838. She was born in Huntsville, Madison County, AL November 21, 1821. Harriet was the daughter of Sugres TURNER and Rebecca DeLONEY. She died November 12, 1900 at 78 years of age.
182 vii. Paul Hill GOODLOE(244) was born, November 22, 1820. He died 1898 in Memphis, Shelby County, TN, at 77 years of age. Paul's occupation: Professor.
