186. John⁷ COCKRILL III (John⁸ COCKERILL, John⁹ COCKERELL (-ILL)) was born in Nashville, Davidson County, TN, July 8, 1781.⁽²⁴⁵⁾ He died August 12, 1841 near Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., AL, at 60 years of age. His body was interred near Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., AL.⁽²⁴⁶⁾

He married twice. He married Elizabeth Bibb HARDING. She was born January 3, 1783. She died February 7, 1824 in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, AL, at 41 years of age.⁽²⁴⁷⁾ Her body was interred near Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., AL. He married Harriet UNKNOWN after 1824. She died March 1839 near Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., AL, at 50 years of age. Her body was interred near Tuscumbia, Colbert Co., AL.⁽²⁴⁸⁾

John COCKRILL III and Elizabeth Bibb HARDING had the following children:

187 i. Sterling Robertson⁶ COCKRILL II⁽²⁴⁹⁾ was born, circa 1804. He died July 18, 1891 in Mount Nebo, Yell County, AR, at 87 years of age. His body was interred in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, AR. He married Ann Henrietta McDONALD.

Sterling's occupation: Planter/Lawyer.

188 ii. Eliza Minerva COCKRILL was born in Cornersville, Marshall County, TN, April 7, 1806. She died June 7, 1835 in N. AL, at 29 years of age.

189 iii. Washington Jefferson COCKRILL⁽²⁵⁰⁾ was born in Cornersville, Marshall County, TN, circa 1808. He died 1833 in TX, at 25 years of age.

+ 115 iv. Granville LaForce COCKRILL was born 1809.

190 v. Alfred Madison COCKRILL⁽²⁵¹⁾ was born, circa 1812.

191 vi. Tennessee Virginia COCKRILL was born, January 12, 1815. She died April 1892 in Richmond, (?Ft. Bend) TX, at 77 years of age.

192 vii. Valeria Veturia COCKRILL⁽²⁵²⁾ was born, September 30, 1816. She died October 1, 1848 in Giles County, TN, at 32 years of age.

193 viii. John Pike COCKRILL⁽²⁵³⁾ was born, circa 1818. He died January 1850 in Matagorda County, TX, at 31 years of age.

194 ix. Elizabeth Bibb COCKRILL⁽²⁵⁴⁾.
