FRIENDS,
COUSINS, AND FELLOW
RESEARCHERS
This is my genealogy partner-in-crime Gerald Irion and his lovely wife Linda. Gerald has made possible much of our Rockett/Ware research. I value his suggestions and feedback, and he has made my genealogical journey both successful and a joy!!
Darlene
Skapura is quite obviously a GORGEOUS cousin through
my maternal HALL line. Pictured beside her is her
handsome son Devin. We share a gggrandfather James
Colwell HALL. We have been told that J. C.'s parents
were killed by a tornado in AL (probably Fayette Co)
during the 1830's, so he will probably always be a
brick wall for us. But Darlene shared with me a photo
of J. C., and I truly treasure
it!!
Larry Nobles of Autauga Co, AL is both a
fellow researcher and a wonderful friend. We both
have ancestors who were "all over" Autauga Co, so I
just KNOW we'll discover one day that we're cousins
too!! :)
Bob Machamer is my cousin through our mutual
DODD ancestry, but I feel kinship toward his wife
Suzy, because we do all the footwork and visiting
online. So I claim her as both a good friend AND a
"cousin". UPDATE!!!! Suzy has discovered WE ARE ALSO RELATED through our mutual RASBERRY line. Bob is a cousin through my maternal line, and Suzy is a cousin through my paternal line, and I couldn't be more thrilled!!!!
Wanda Ware DeGidio is a cousin in
my WARE line in England. She's not only pretty, but
also is a thorough, well-respected researcher, and I
always look forward to getting emails from her,
because I know they'll be full of interesting,
ACCURATE, new WARE info. We haven't cinched
our link YET, but that will happen soon, I'm
sure!!
Her website is:

Jesse E. Morris, Jr. [great
grandson of Alonzo Peeples Morris (ca.
1800-1875)] and wife Rebecca Robinson Morris. Jesse
is a cousin through my MORRIS line, and Rebecca is
another of those wives with whom I claim kinship.
:)
Jack and Grace Rockett. Jack is a newfound ROCKETT
cousin and definitely a "fave"!! He has that fabulous
sense of humor that runs rampant among us Rocketts. I
shutter to think what a Rockett reunion might be
like.....each of us trying to be funnier than the
next!!
Another Rockett cousin Tom Beaty with
wife Suzanne and son Grant. I'm proud to call this
gorgeous young family my cousins!!
Left: High School friend Sam Kyzar and his
wife Margaret. Right: Sam and Margaret's GORGEOUS
daughters. On the left is Shannon Leigh Kyzar, a 6th
grade school teacher in Austin, TX. On the right is
Tracey Lynn (Kyzar) Davenport. She is the Associate
Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in San
Angelo, TX. Her husband Jack Hand Davenport is from
Hattiesburg, MS and is a computer design engineering
manager for GTE in San Angelo.
Turner C. Battle III, Consultant in Higher
Education and listed in Who's Who in America, is a
cousin through my Cooper lineage. Turner and I are
working feverishly to connect his greatgrandfather
and my greatgreatgrandfather Peter Cooper to a Cooper
lineage in SC. We'll get the puzzle pieced together
one of these days!! His grandfather was Charles
McClellan, the son of Peter and a Creek Indian slave
girl named Fanny. Charles is pictured on the Cooper
lineage page: HERE
I guess it's obvious that Jim Rockett and I are
cousins through the Rockett line!! Until their
recent move to Colorado, Jim and his wife were stationed in Italy and visited Ireland to take some great photos of Rockett's Castle. Jim is indeed a gem!!
It's hard to find just the right words for my cousin Vickye White. She is one of my very dearest friends. We cuss and dis-cuss our SHAW ancestors (and lack thereof) almost daily via email. She lives in Texas, as do her daughter and granddaughter pictured below.
Cousin Vickye's daughter Michelle and granddaughter Jocelynn. Michelle does a LOT of legwork, looking for our SHAWs, and I'm sure Jocelynn will get bitten by the genealogy bug too one day!
