The original recipe called for chopping and saute'ing an onion. I usually just add a chopped onion, unsauted - but if you don't like that you can just use the dried minced onions (or go ahead and saute them if you've got the time! ) Add the other spices to taste. Then go ahead and do the lasanga thing! Layer sauce, noodles ( I just put them in uncooked with lots of sauce ) , cheese glop, sauce, noodles, cheese glop, noodles , sauce and top with some shredded mozzerella. You can add mozzerella between all the layers if you want, but I find it tastes just as good this way with a bit less fat. Bake in a 350 oven for about an hour. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : This recipe freezes well. The original recipe used eggplant instead of spinach - peeled, cubed, and boiled or steamed. Do this and you have eggplant lasanga :-) (But using frozen chopped spinach is faster!) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Return to the coobook main page
