At some point in time, almost everyone will suffer a major illness. Few will be spared the grief brought on by the death of close friends and relatives. These things are completely unavoidable. They just happen. Personal and societal illnesses such as crime, divorce and drug abuse are avoidable to some extent, but, unfortunately, their perpetrators and victims are a regular part of life around us.
Some people seem to be better suited to handle major crises as they arise, yet others are less able to travel through the tougher times. They find it difficult to cope. Often, there are no real answers for the questions they ask. For these people, life becomes the desperation of keeping a hope that seems far away. The result of this breakdown can be depression, despondency and a regression toward suicidal thoughts or actions.
If you find this site in the midst of your own suffering, know that there are no simple answers. Instead, take hold of the hope and receive the encouragement of those who want to share with you. Be assured that there is a way - a path out of the darkness. Know that there is truth - a light and an unequivocal counsel that penetrates the lies you might believe about yourself and the troubles you face. But most of all, through the testimonies and scriptures, I pray that you will discover the value of your life - as God sees it.
