IN MEMORY OF HESKY

IN MEMORY OF A GREAT FREIND

BY EMORY SCHMIDT

Hesky born in the Spring of 1985 passed on Febuary 10, 2000.  1/2 Timber wolf and 1/2 Arctic Wolf.

I remember the first day I met you.  You were a pup, a bundle of fur. Cuter than words can describe.  But what stands out most of all is your confidence.  You walked up to me so bold and sure without a fear in the world.  Even though you were only three weeks old, you acted like you had known us all your short life.

I loved you then.

More stories and time passed, you had grown into 120 pounds of the most beautiful creature on God's earth.  You had a great sense of humor.  Remember when you and I went down to the river.  I took my shoes and pants off so I coud enter the river and try to hand catch the fish locked in that pool.  Of course you had to jump in and get the  water all cloudy so visibility was zero.  As soon as you saw me leaving the water I saw your eyes go to my pants.  I knew I was in trouble.   Remmeber you would get 10 feet in front of me, drop the pants and every time I reached for them you would snatch them up.  I still can see that mischievous look on your face.  I could actually see you laughing.  You made me walk all the way home in my underwear.

I loved you then.
