Welcome to Good Memories Lane
Life would be tragic without good memories. I had been blessed with good memories from the past … hope to share with you now … |

1) The main reason why I enjoyed my JC life so much is that I had a group of friends who lent each other support and encouragement through times of need. They were always there when I needed them. I thank God for friends in JC. Below is a song that was written by this group of people: Friends In this crazy mixed up world where problems seem so vast Never thought I could make it Never thought I could last Even though I conquer some I know I could not stand Only when you came around then … The problem wouldn't be so bad! Chorus: Countless are the reasons we have to cherish friends For smiles when they're most needed For the helping hands they lend Thank You All for the special ways You've brighten up my days Thank You Lord for the friends you give to me!
For special confidences they take time to share For all their loving ways They showed how much they care Sharing joys and sorrows and comforts in defeats Special Friends they mean to me And forever they will be! |
JC ECA Group Friends : Saints For Christ 1986-198 7
Saints for Christ is a Christian ECA group in Saint Andrew's Junior College. It comprised students who shared the same Christian Faith, committed to share the good news with fellow students. Some of the activities that we had held were concerts, dramas and social visits (eg. the refugee camp ). I became a Christian in JC. These are the friends that brought me up in the faith … helping me to know God better. I am very grateful to their faithfulness and love for God.

2) Christian Journey is never meant to be alone. Church Friends are important to me. On the left shows a group of people whom I grew up with … from JC to National Service Days to Adulthood. Some are in National Service, some are working and some have already got married today. We share a common faith … Jesus our Redeemer and Friend!
"And Friends are Friends Forever If the Lord is the Lord of Them. "
May the Lord be always in the center of our lives … wherever we go ! |
3) I seldom travel. In fact I do not like travelling, I prefer to stay at home. However, there was one overseas trip that I will always remember and cherish in my heart. It was a trip to a war torn country. I experienced simple living -life with just the basic essence, drank from well, and from the people of that country … learnt about love, hate and regrets that war may cause. It was an indeed an enriching experience! |

4) Friends and more friends … it seems that good memories are made of people and good friends. Below shows a photograph of my teaching college friends at an outing. We shared common goals and interests … I guess that's what made the group "click" together! How about you? Do you have any special group(s) of friends for memories' sake? 5) Friendships are possible in a teacher-student relationship … don't you think so? I find it a pity that some students distanced themselves away from teachers just in case their friends will accuse them of trying to get into the teachers' good books. I taught this class, 2F'97 for a short period of time last year (1997). Surprising, some very meaningful friendships were formed through that very brief time span. 2F'97 (then 1F'96) and Me in Malacca'96.
