Lucinda E. Ruffin Peery, died the same year of smallpox on 28 April, 1882. We also don't know where Lucinda is buried, we are still looking.

Here is the quote from Vera Davis memories written in 1980, after writing of an aborted trip to Texas she writes:

"The first trace I have of Father (Israel Jenkins) and Uncle Manuel after the aborted trip, they were in Boone County, Arkansas. Uncle Manuel married Eleanor Raynor and they had five children before he died on the 18th of March 1895 at the age of 38. He was buried in the Denning Cemetery near Harrisan, Arkansas.

On August 9, 1883 father (Israel Jenkins) married a young widow, Martha C. Ruffin. She had a small son, William Henry (called Willie). He was born December 17,1878, so he was not yet five years old. Martha C. was born on February 6, 1861, and was called "Sis". Her mother, Elizabeth Smith made her home with them."
