Samuel H. and Martha Ann Jordan were actually first cousins. Their mothers, Nancy Bailey Gray and Sally Bailey Jorden, were sisters, daughters of Jonathan Bailey. They were married by her brother, Cornelius Haywood Jordan. who was a minister.
