Waterfall

On the Trail Above Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada

Lake Louise was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots on the trip. The lake is glaicer fed and this makes it a seemingly impossible blue color. This intense blue comes from silt suspended in the glacial melt water filling the lake. We hiked up to the Teahouse and beyond from down at the townsite, a distance all told of 8-10 miles and a change in elevation of 2500 feet. Best hike we've ever taken. The views were spectacular and above the teahouse, we encountered very few other hikers.

This spot is just below the Teahouse and Lake Agnes, which is directly fed by the glacier. The little waterfall is overflow from Lake Agnes. It continues down to Mirror Lake where it again overflows and heads down the mountain to Lake Louise. I think this may be the nicest picture we took the entire trip. It was an absolutely enchanting spot.

Take a look at the hotels we stayed in (these are really nice)...
