At the end of February 1996 there were a meeting of almost all at that time existing TenSing groups in a small village Zator near town Krnov. On Friday evening each group presented itself, on Saturday we played an outdoor game in snowy landscape. There were Rolling & Magazine in the evening and we finished our meeting with devotion on Sunday morning. This meeting wasn't even called festival.

It was for me and for most of us from Tensing Krabcice our first meeting with people from other Tensing groups. Maybe because of I remembered it very good.

This meeting in Zator continued in Krabcice, a year later. It was officially called Czech and Slovak TenSing Festival. There were not only TenSing groups from the Czech republic and Slovakia but also from Poland (Gdynia and Olsztyn). Program of this festival was similar to Zator ( 5 hour long presentation of TenSing groups, Rolling & Magazine, devotion). But there were also new activities - four workshops : making of paper, painting of faces, creating things from clay and from paper(Origami). And of course a festival choir.

After this festival I was very tired because I run very much - to carry something or give message somewhere.

Third festival was from 19. to 22. february in Siluvky near Brno. There were also about 15 people from TenSing Gdynia. At festival there were almost 200 people. It's quite a lot. There were a normal program : presentation of TenSing groups, choir, devotion, games and workshops ( breeding of tiny rodents, rock-a-roll, nonverbal commutation and others]. The festival was affected by ice hockey because at the same time the Czech republic played a semifinal and a final match i Nagano.

It's 5 minute till the end of a semifinal match in ice hockey between Czech republic and Canada in Nagano.
And Hasek has caught it !!!

After two years I mostly remember hockey matches at Olympic game in Nagano. When the Czech republic played the semifinal match with Canada we connected radio with a loudspeaker and everybody was listening. The final match we saw in television. It was in a small room. In the begging there were 5 people, at the end more then 50.

volunteers were really
devoted to their duties.
They could do everything.

In 1999 there weren't any Czech and Slovak festival because European Tensing festival was in Litomysl. This festival took all effort. There were 200 volunteers from the Czech republic and Slovakia who helped with organization of festival. Their work was very various : guarding, cleaning, writting of newspapers.

It was a working festival for me. I participated at pre-camp which began a week before the festival. We were 40 Czechs, Slovaks a Germans. We did first preparation. After 5 days the rest of volunteers came. And two days later the participants. I work at a school where I took care of people who were accommodated there. I spent most time there.

The next festival was after a year pause in March 2000 in Melnik. The program was almost the same like in previous festivals. The tearoom became very popular.

I met with the members of Tensing Norway team which was in autumn 1999 in Mělnik. There were also two girls from Haugesund !
