Hi! Here is some info on migraines. Picture someone digging an icepick through the back of your eyes and someone pounding a hammer at the side of your head at your temples with every heartbeat. That is pretty close to what I have felt almost once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less, since I was about 5 years old. I've found out alot of info over the past decade that has been helpful. Foods play a big part in triggering a migraine--especially those that contain amines, which affect the diameter of your blood vessels--may trigger migraines. Any--or none--of these foods may bring on your migraine symptoms:
Avocados Bananas Caffeinated drinks Chicken liver Chinese food Chocolate Citrus fruits Ketchup Monosodium glutamate (MSG), a flavor enhancer Nuts or peanut butter Pizza Processed meats (hot dogs and sausages) Raisins Red wine Ripened cheeses (cheddar, Stilton, Brie, Camembert) Sourdough bread Some vegetables (including onions, lentils and snow peas) Soy sauce Sour cream Other common triggers include: odor of perfume, flowers or natural gas; changes in weather or altitude; cigarette smoking; alcoholic consumption; excessive noise and bright or fluorescent light. For some people, stress or a change in sleeping pattern brings on migraine symptoms. Keeping a headache calendar is your best way of identifying a pattern in the things you do, eat or feel and the onset of a headache. In turn, you can avoid those factors that seem to cause your headaches..
