Worry over job, school, finances, and family. All important things in life. But that little bit of worry takes our focus off the one things we should never take our eyes from: Jesus.
Didn't He say in Matthew 28:20, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Even the very name Emmanuel means "God with us," as the angels proclaim in Matthew 1:23.
Jesus promised to be with us. And God doesn't lie...it's impossible for Him to lie.
But He's not just with us in the good times. Jesus never said, "Hey, when you're up, I'm up, but when your down, I'm outtie." No! He is always with us. With you. With me. Watching out for us. Holding our hands when the times get tough.
That doesn't mean things will always turn out the way we want them to turn out. But we were given this wonderful promise in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things (not just some things, but all things) God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." He has our good in mind in everything, even the bad things He allows us to face.
Not only that, but Jesus commands us not to worry in Matthew 6:25-34. "Therefore I tell you, do no worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
God takes care of His children. We are never out of His sight. He knows what we face. And He's there. We have no reason to worry because God is taking care of us even when things seem dark and the future looks bleak.
But worries come up. What should we do when that happens? Lay in bed, tossing and turning? No! We need to get out of bed, get on our knees, and ask God to take it. Put your faith and trust in God and allow His to take it away. As 1 Peter 5:6-7 says, "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you."
NO WORRIES!
