Scrumptious Yorkshire Terriers had its beginning back when Nancy and I (Bob) were first married.  She worked for the County Planning Department and had a friend that had “Yorkshire Terriers”.  From descriptions and pictures, we both fell in love with the breed.  So we purchased our first “Yorkie” - a tiny puppy - all black and tan -with the sweetest kisses and so full of excitement.  Of course he wasn’t a pedigreed puppy as the owners failed to register the parents.  “Sir Edmund Mortimer” grew up to be the most loving guy you’d ever want to meet. (A word to the newcomers - all Yorkies are born black and tan.  It takes several months to know a  puppy with good qualities from a poor one).

However Mortimer had everything the American Kennel Club standard said should not be in a Yorkie!  He was all Yorkie inside though.  The desire was within us to raise and show these beautiful dogs.  From this humble beginning we learned what makes a great Yorkie.  We gladly share it with you.
