the hedgehog

This page is dedicated to my first hedgie, Juniper. She made such a good impression on me that I got another one, Hera (more on her page). Juniper is a smallish chocolate girl. She is extremely healthy, a good eater with a good weight. She runs on her wheel every night (I wish I was that motivated) and I'm so proud! She has the best temperment out of every hedgehog I've seen and most of the ones I've heard about. I've seen a lot! I'm very lucky to have her.

June loves people, but mainly my brother and I. She's very wary of strangers and when she wriggles free of their grasp, she runs right back to me. I'm surprised she likes my brother, he spends little time with her. June LOVES mealworms. She'll come up and beg until there's no way I could keep them from her. She also loves to chase crickets, though I usually have to help her out. Crickets are really good after being dusted with vitamin suppliment. She loves running on her wheel and taking cat litter baths (I think the natural unscented kind is the best). June also enjoys a run in my room, and I always find her snuggled up under my desk. For all you potential hedgie owners: wish that you will get one like my Juniper!
