Gambia Report - 1

The 6th of July I left for 2 weeks holiday to The Gambia, a small country in West-Africa. I had a wonderful time there and I hope to go there a second time. I went there together with a travelling party. That means we didn't know each other so it was a pleasant occasion to make new friends. The group was formed by 16 girls and 6 boys.

Banjul Airport. One of the most futuristic buildings of The Gambia.

The pool in the Hotel. The largest pool in The Gambia.

Together with other Dutch tourists we watched the soccer world cup match Holland-Brasil. All Gambian people were dressed in orange since that is the color of the Dutch team. A pity we lost the match...

We visited a primary school. All children were very excited to see so many tourist. That always means they will get some presents, like pencils, scripts, sweets, etc. I wanted to take a picture of a few children and in no time there were many children who wanted to pose for me. Many children gave their addres, for they all like to get postcards from Europe.

Waiting for our dinner.. In the meantime I drunk a coke, and another one, and another one...After 1:30 hours dinner was served!
