“There are monsters in the dark, hiding under my bed,
Would you please leave on the light,” the little boy
said.
“They’re watching me and waiting, and coming after me,
And I get so afraid when I’m unable to see.”

I bet you can remember, when playing in the park,
How you had to get back home, before it got dark.
‘Cause ghosts and ghouls and goblins would come out at
night,
And you could not breathe easy until you saw the light.
•
(chorus)
But the baby in the manger was born in the night,
While angels sang above in sweet accord;
An earthquake at midnight broke open the chains,
As Paul and Silas sang to the Lord;
The stone at the tomb rolled away in the gloom,
No power could keep the Master in;
Now I understand, it’s all part of His plan,
And I’ll never fear the dark... again.

Jesus said for His disciples to shine like a light,
Reflecting His great love, dispelling the night;
A bright and holy fire comes from one tiny spark,
So never be afraid to step into the dark.
•
(chorus)
For the baby in the manger was born in the night,
While angels sang above in sweet accord;
An earthquake at midnight broke open the chains,
As Paul and Silas sang to the Lord;
The stone at the tomb rolled away in the gloom,
No power could keep the Master in;
Now I understand, it’s all part of His plan,
And I’ll never fear the dark... again.
•
(ending)
Now I understand, we’re all part of His plan,
And I’ll never fear the dark... again.
