I have no need to read a book, to learn of saints and Christians,
‘Cause I grew up among them, and found God with their assistance.
They say the age of miracles was ended long ago,
But I’ve seen proof they still occur, and this is what I know--

The greatest of all miracles is Jesus’ wondrous love,
That He would pay the price so we could live with Him above.
While here on Earth, He raised the dead, and cured the worst diseases,
And miracles still happen -- My Mom has the hands of Jesus!

I’ve seen those hands give medicine to help to heal the sick,
And tend to wounds, from bleeding cuts to tiny little nicks;
I’ve seen her hands give food, so poor and hungry folks could eat,
And wipe away a teardrop, with a touch so warm and sweet.

I’ve seen my mother’s hands reach out, to hug a crying child,
I’ve seen them help lift up the lame, and soothe and calm the wild.
I’ve seen their strength when she would carry more than her fair share;
And where the need was desperate, those hands were always there.

Her hands could give out punishment when we ignored the rules,
But they could show the way of truth, and teach in any school;
I’ve seen them toiling tirelessly, when there was work to do,
And keeping things in order, when the house was like a zoo.

Those hands have held the Holy Book, and pointed out God’s way,
And thanks to them, I’ll join with the redeemed on Judgement Day.
I want to thank my Savior when I reach that happy land,
For giving me a Mother who had Jesus’ loving hands.
