Song Lyrics
MY SONG IS ENDED

- 1 -
When lightning splits the Eastern Sky, and thunder fills the air,
When trumpets sound, and mighty shouts, and people stop and stare,
When Jesus comes to claim His own, the dead in Christ will rise,
And I know I'll be shouting songs of gladness to the skies.
And instantly my song will change, and here is what I'll say,
If you should hear me singing on that glorious judgement day...
•
(chorus)
My song is ended, my journey's done;
My battle's over, victory's been won;
My pain and fear are gone, my tears are dry,
I will live forever in my home on high.
•
- 2 -
I will no more worry about my family and friends,
They'll be right there with me on that day that never ends;
There'll be no more sorrow there, no pain or tears or loss,
For they have all been conquered on that old, rugged cross;
I'll feast at Jesus' table, and His radiant face I'll see;
I'll walk with Him in wondrous light, along the crystal sea...
•
(chorus)
My song is ended, my journey's done;
My battle's over, victory's been won;
My pain and fear are gone, my tears are dry,
I will live forever in my home on high.
•
- 3 -
There's a mansion waiting for me, yonder in the sky,
The street in front is paved with gold, and angels strolling by;
There'll be no need for sun or moon, no storm-winds ever blow;
In wonder, joy and gratitude, true peace we'll finally know.
We'll join that great eternal choir, our voices we will raise,
And happily we'll sing new songs of glory, love, and praise...
•
(chorus)
My song is ended, my journey's done;
My battle's over, victory's been won;
My pain and fear are gone, my tears are dry,
I will live forever in my home on high.
