Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As the summer season approaches, there are some concerns in our community. Please be aware of scam artists who may soliciting money. Report to the police anyone who you think is up to no good. There may be someone ringing your doorbell saying he has extra building or repair materials left from some other job. Do not fall for this scheme.

Children should be cautioned about skating, riding bicycles and playing in the roadway. There have been some accidents.

Two illegal residences for homeless people have been closed down in our community and there is another one in the process of being shut. Please let me know if there are any illegal houses that you know of.

There have been many meetings pertaining to the proposed Light Rail System on the Van Wyck Expressway. Communities along the Expressway are fighting this proposal as well as the communities of the Rockaway Peninsula. Other alternatives have to be considered. We ask that residents of this community write letters to our political representatives expressing our feelings.

"Destination Technodome" is still being discussed and as soon as a decision is made residents will be informed.

There are several sewer projects going on in the community. These should help many families.
