Gemedet

Gemedet is the daughter of Adia & Riven, from their first litter. Unfortunately her original mate, of only 3 weeks, Ashley's Banner D'Arcey from Kate died on October 30th, 1998. But 3 weeks later, her new mate, Ashley's Drawn To The Rhythm (Darwin) arrived. Gemedet thought she loved him very much, but unfortunately she realized a scant month after she married him it had been a mistake. Thus, they divorced.

But they were so in love!! =(

Gemedet is a lilac, but she seems slightly lighter than a lilac. Perhaps it's because she is Gg? Or maybe it's because she carries c(b) and is in fact a sapphire. I will never know for sure...

Gemedet at 1 yr old

Gemedet is one of my sweetest little girls. She's from Adia's first litter. All of the girls (there was only 1 boy) from that litter are very nice little ladies. They're all big, and slim, and sweet = ) She was the first baby to learn how to climb up my arm.

Banner was a grey agouti male who was born on August 27th, 1998. He was bred by Kate Potter and I had planned to register him as Ashley's Banner D'Arcey. This is because his great-grandmother was a REW named D'Arcey (she belonged to Mindy). He arrived at my house in a box on October 3rd, 1998, along with Ashwin. He was such a sweetie, and will be missed dearly = ( See his memorial here.

Darwin!

Darwin, Banner's 2nd brother, was Gemedet's 2nd husband. They were together for a month, and then out of nowhere she attacked him--biting him on the nose and getting blood all over him & herself. Thankfully Darwin was shaken but not terribly hurt but I took it as a sign that this was not a happy union after all =(

Why Gemi? Why? He was so handsome!

So alas, Gemedet is now husbandless. My theory is that she was so attatched to Banner, that she just couldn't accept another mate. Darwin now has a new buddy and is happy, and quite chubby as well.

5/8/99 - Gemedet, my lil baby, is a year old!!

11/19/98 - Gemedet's new boy has arrived! His name is Ashley's Twilight Time aka Darwin. What a sweetheart = )

10/31/98 - I found Banner dead in their tank last night = ( I have no idea what happened = ( At first I suspected Tyzzer's because Gemedet seemed kind of sick too, but now I think maybe it was a stroke. I'll never know = ( Kate has kindly offered to let me have Banner's little brother, a grey agouti male in her current litter. I'll probably name him Darwin. My poor little boy....

10/11/98 - They're together now! Awww, so cute curled up together = )

10/3/98 - Gemedet's mate is here! His name is Banner and he's a grey agouti. He's Adair & Danziger's nephew = )

9/8/98 - I might have found Gemedet a mate!! Assuming Adia doesn't have an agouti spot male before October (which is likely because she's not even pregnant!) I'll be getting a grey agouti from Kate, named Banner. He is the son of Sierra & Whisper, Adair & Danziger's siblings. Cool, huh? They would have at least agouti, grey agouti, black, and slate.
