Sympatico
Sympatico & Darwin are two of my sweet boys. Sympatico is a black pied male who was born in September of 1998 and Darwin is a grey agouti that was born October 5th, 1998. Sympatico came to us from Lisa Harrell so his registered name is TKC's Back Door Man. Darwin came from Kate Potter in New York so he's Ashley's Twilight Time.

How these two came to live together is kind of a long story. After Monny passed away, his brother Ben was all alone. So a few days later I went and met Lisa and picked up Sympatico. In November, Darwin came from Kate to be the mate of Gemedet. Well, awhile later, Ben passed away leaving Sympatico alone. I was going to introduce him to another little boy eventually, but then one night I discovered that Gemedet had bitten Darwin on the nose and caused him to bleed profusely! She didn't appear to have been dead set on killing him (or else he would have been dead) but I decided that spousal abuse was not a sign of a good relationship! So I made the tough decision to split them up rather than risk letting the situation escalate.

Then I decided to try to introduce Darwin to Sympatico. For a few days I switched their cages, since earlier I'd tried to put Sympatico with Skittish and they had immediately batted through the bars at each other causing some injury. Then after that I put them in a split aquarium for a week. Finally on February 13th, 1999, they were together happily!

Sympatico's parents were Guen (lilac pied) and Cloud (black). Sympatico has grown into quite a large boy, just like his parents! He loves running on his wheel and, of course, sleeping. He has the neatest little marking on his head--he has kind of a lightening bolt going down it.
Darwin on the house
Darwin is the son of Kate Potter's Whisper (Ashley's Dreams Come True) and Sierra (Ashley's Yes I Can). Those two are the sister and brother of Adair & Danziger making him related to several of my gerbs. I shipped Whisper & Sierra to Kate, from Mindy, so it seemed only appropriate that I get one of their kids ;)
