Lilith & Ashwin's first litter of pups was born on January 1st, 1999. Nothing beats New Year's babies!! My mom had some friends from Norway over and we were all eating dinner. At about 7:45 when I went upstairs to check up on Lilith, she'd had 5 pups while we were eating! (DOH!) So I watched for a while longer, and she tended to her 4 squeaky little pups (unfortunately, one was stillborn) and she seemed to be getting ready to have another one, but seemed to be having a little trouble. When I checked back on her later, I realized why--she'd had a pup, and it was HUUUUUGE! However the poor dear was stillborn... my guess is it was so big she had trouble giving birth, and so it suffocated on the way out = ( So, we have 4 squeaky pups.... good enough for me though. I think they're mostly dark eyeds too... lots of CPs! = )

Four little cuties!

Ash is such a kooky father. Even while Lilith was giving birth he kept pestering her, poking at the babies, and what-not. This is unusual because males usually retreat when the female is having the pups. Later that night, he made himself a cute little round nest right next to Lilith & pups. He looked quite snug ;)

Their names are Persephone, Ganymede, Hyperion, and Thalia (Notus and Helios were stillborn). Persephone is named after the Greek goddess of spring (and the Underworld), Hyperion is a Titan of light, Ganymede is a cupbearer to the Gods (whatever that is ;) and Thalia is the Grace of Good Cheer. All of them but Ganymede are siamese (Gany is a DTW) and all are females.

2/2/99 This might be the last day I take daily pics, because Eve is due tomorrow and I don't feel like taking pics of 5 litters at once ;) The little sweeties are almost ready to go. Everybody's reserved but Gany. Gany really is a sweetheart, she loves climbing up my sleeve and is one of the more outgoing of the pups ;)

1/30/99 The girls will be about ready to go in about a week. Everybody is reserved, except Ganymede. I think Ganymede is EeGg so she could be a good match for one of Adia's, Adair's, or Mary's. Just check out the adoption page. Hyperion is going to live with Mia, Thalia is going to live with Kate, and Persephone is going to live with Meagan. All of them will be bred = )

1/20/99 Ganymede was the last to pop eyes open, but they're there ;)

1/19/99 - Blinkey blinkey! 2 of the siamese have both eyes open, one has one open, and poor Ganymede (DTW) doesn't have any open yet!

1/10/99 - It looks to me all of the girls are "regular" siamese (as opposed to ultra-dark, like their dad) which is very interesting. I'm guessing they probably carry whatever causes UD, as does the DTW.

1/8/99 - All of them are females! LOL. I'm pretty sure there are 3 siamese and one DTW. 2 siamese are already reserved, better hurry up! = )

1/6/99 - Still can't tell what colors they are (well except the DTW!) but I should know by the 10th for sure.

1/2/99 - 4 squeaky pups with milk in their tummies today! ;) I'm sure at lesat 3 of them are dark eyed and I think the 4th is going to be DTW but I'm not totally sure just yet = ) Yay! CPs!!! Lilith is such a good mom.
