Lilith McLachlan is a colorpoint nutmeg (aaPPc(b)c(*)eeGG) and was born May 28th, 1998. Her mate is Ashwin, an ultra-dark siamese male born on August 22nd, 1998. Lilith is going to be registered with the GCM as Kitts' Lilith Fair. Lilith's parents were a black and a black spot, so Lilith might be spotted, too. She was bred by Heather Schwartz ("Kitt") who lives in South Dakota and shipped to me. A light colorpoint nutmeg begins life looking like a black eyed white. However at about 10 weeks old, they begin to molt, just like a regular nutmeg would. The best she could be described right now is as a white siamese, with offwhite/orangey splashes here and there = ) She also has nice black eyes.
Lilith was living with Hafwen up til the time I got Ashwin. Ashwin was bred by my good friend Kate Potter and sent to me as a sort of gift = ) He'll be registered as Ashley's Seraph as Seraph was his "birth name". They'll have at least siamese, burmese, and DTW and possibly spots of those. Their kids will be Ee so if people breed them together, they'll get more CPnutmeg and LCPnutmeg like Lilith = ) I won't be breeding their kids, though, because I doubt I'll have enough space at that time.
Lilith is named after Lilith Fair, the big music tour that Sarah McLachlan started (For those who are wondering, yes, I do listen to a lot of Sarah McLachlan . . .). Her last name is McLachlan, after Sarah (and because I couldn't think of anything better). Ashwin is named after Ashwin Sood, Sarah's drummer/husband. They're just a big happy musical family LOL I went to Lilith Fair on August 10th and it was VERY COOL, despite the fact that it rained for 4 straight hours. Maybe some day I will write Sarah a letter and send her pictures of Lilith = )
Ashwin's parents are Ashley's Circe (siamese) and Ashley's Rimba (siamese). I've met them once, and they are very sweet gerbies. Ashwin is Dana's nephew = ) Ash is a total sweety, he's just so tame and friendly and likes to be held. He and Lilith were such sweeties, that they got introduced after a week of split tank and got along perfectly. The little angels = ) I looked it up on a name search engine and found out that Ashwin is Welsh (?) for "spear friend" (that or it was just plain old English). Hmmmm... okay! If ya say so = ) Since I've been using that engine to look up meanings I've found out a few things. One of those things is that a lot of names that end in "win" have something to do with "friend". Because win must mean friend in whatever language it originated in.
Lilith and Ashwin are such a cute pair! When they see me walk by they'll climb up on their little house and stand there til I take them out. At first Ash was cautious of me but after a week or two he really got used to me. I think it was because every night I plucked him out and let him run around on my bed = ) I think he really enjoys that. I think he'll make a great daddy and have great kiddies 'cause he's such a sweet fella.
Lilith's parents belonged to Heather Schwartz who lives so far away I will never see them = ( (not to mention I don't think Kitt owns them anymore, tho I may be wrong...) But I do have a picture of her parents as babies along with her grandparents. That's better than nothing! In this picture here you can see her grandmother, a siamese, her grandfather a nutmeg spot's behind, and a pile of pups that includes her mother and father (black & black spot). Neat, huh? = )
Ash is my guy. I'm training him to sit on my shoulder and he's very good at it. He loves to sit there are watch everybody else from atop my shoulder. He's the gerb I always bring out to show people who have never seen gerbils before, because not only does he have a GORGEOUS coat, he is also one of my sweetest boys. He has stolen my heart. I hope Lilith doesn't mind ;)
Lilith & Ashwin's first litter was born on New Year's 1999. (Cool, eh?) They had 4 beautiful little pups, 3 siamese and 1 dark tailed white, all females. See their first litter here.

News For Lilith!
Lilith is due: Maybe some pups for February?
1/1/98 - Yay! Lilith had sextuplets just in time for New Year's!
11/28/98 - They mated for the 3rd time a couple days ago. Oh well, such is my life. Ash just enjoys being like Dana. Good thing they're so sweet! ;)
11/13/98 - Ashwin & Lilith remated a couple days ago, so no pups just yet = ) But that's ok, I've gotten used to that sort of thing LOL
11/2/98 - yahoo! If my luck has improved (tho unlikely as it may be) Ashwin & Lilith will be parents on Nov. 27th = )
10/3/98 - Lilith's mate has arrived! His name is Ashwin and he's a cutie pie. Unfortunately the pic I took of him didn't come out well so I'll get some more tomorrow.
9/8/98 - I may have found Lilith a mate! Since it doesn't look like Dana will have a siamese male anytime soon, I'm probably going to get a siamese from Kate named Ashley's Seraph (he will still be called Ashwin, though). Here is the pedigree of pups from them: pedigree. And here's a pic of him and his littermates:
Of pups & breeding
Ashwin's genes are aaP*c(b)c(h)EEGG and Lilith's genes are aaP*c(b)c(h)eeGG. At least that's what I understand. Their babies will be dark tailed white, siamese, and burmese.
