Shadow - The beautiful wolf-dog!

I'm getting to be a big boy now, and lots of exciting things have happened.

After a whole lot of practice (and treats) I've learned to "sit" and "shake hands" and "down" and walk on a lead, and mostly I come when I am called. I've also learned that I shouldn't jump on Mom or try to lead her with my teeth! I can also run very fast in a big oval, that Lt calls "Nascar", but I can't make tight turns like he does and sometimes run into things, like trees, the fence or Mom (Oops!)

On my seventh month birthday I had surgery to neuter me. I'm not sure what that means, but I was told it will help me stay healthy and keep me from running off or getting into fights! I don't want to fight anyway -- I love everybody here at Black Rock Ranch, even though most of the cats still "hiss" at me. Genghis has slapped me a few times, but mostly ignores me. I know better than to push my luck with HIM, though.

Mostly I like to play and eat. I weigh 53 pounds now and I'm still growing!

I got a haircut for the summer months and a swimming pool. My hair is growing back now and Mom says that I am beautiful. I've also developed a very melodic howl and Lt and I can really make beautiful music together. Tiffany just grumps at us to hush, but we enjoy it so much that Mom has to tell us to be quiet. (Some people have no appreciation for music!)

Here are my "baby" pictures.
When I was a smaller fellow I did not like these HIGH steps!
"Mom...help me!"
NOTE:I am NOT a baby anymore!

Wanna play? I wanna! "Mom, run with me....
throw me something to chase!"

EEEKKK! MOM!!! Open the door!
They "whuffled" at me!! I am OUTTA HERE!
Two horses that live here are sooooo big and scary.
But I have kissed them on the nose and they didn't bite.
It's their "whuffling" noise that gets me!

I was born November 9, 1997. My mother is a Shepherd/Husky and she is beautiful. We don't know much about my dad. I have a lot of Wolf traits and looks and I know how to howl correctly. I weighed 9 pounds when I got my first checkup at 8 weeks. I went back at 12 weeks and weighed 18.9 pounds (Maybe I DO eat a lot!) My last shots and check were just before my 4 months birthday, and I weighed 29 pounds!! So, I'll probably be a big guy. But, I'm very sweet.

LT was my "buddy," but says he outranked me, so I had to play whatever he wanted, even though I am bigger. He said age deserves respect and children should be seen and not heard, and a lot of stuff like that. He also said he would beat me bald if I didn't do what he said.
